The process of buying footwear
has taken many twists and turns over the last 30 years. When
we were children our parents always told us how important it was to
have well fitted shoes and width fittings existed for children and
adults alike. Style and shoes were also, on the whole,
somewhat more foot shaped.
What has happened in the last 15
years is the elimination of all fittings for adults and, in many
cases even half sizes have been abandoned, and instead the High
Street has bombarded us with more styles.
I have taken careful note of
these changes since my career in shoes started in 1983 and have been
fortunate enough to work as both a repairer and as a shoemaker.
Based on literally hundreds of conversations with customers about
how desperate they are to combine fit with style and colour the
concept of Shoogle was created: Men's and Ladies shoes made to
measure affordably.
